Willkommen Y'all!
Old-world oompah with a Texas twang.
Since 2002, the Austin Polka Band has kept the polka tradition alive across Central Texas. Players rotate through the bandstand, but the sound stays the same: warm, loud, and built to get a room moving. Many of our musicians bring 40+ years on their instruments to the stage — this isn't a hobby band, it's a crew of pros who happen to be having the time of their lives.
We don't perform at a crowd. We pull everyone in. Whether it's a brewery patio, an Oktoberfest tent, or a wedding reception, the goal is the same — give the room a little Gemütlichkeit and watch what happens.
Twenty-plus years in, we're still the same band that started just for the joy of the music.
Picture a Hill Country dance hall festooned for an Oktoberfest celebration. That's us. The grackle on our seal says it all: a Texas native in full Bavarian dress. We take the old-world oompah of polka and perform it with a Texas accent — accordion and tuba with a brush of Western swagger.
Our frontman even delivers the occasional tune in its original German, the genuine article behind all that Gemütlichkeit.
Eins, Zwei, G'Suffa — that's "one, two, drink up!" (You'll have it memorized by the second chorus.)
Polkas, waltzes, marches, schottisches, Texas anthems, folk tunes from south of the border, original arrangements, even the odd show tune — 118 songs in our book. Search for a favorite, or dig into a style.
Sound engineering is available for any size venue. Wherever the Austin Polka Band plays, we can handle it — so you don't have to.
We bring the sound
From a brewery taproom to a private hall, we can provide full sound and run the board ourselves — PA, mics, monitors, the lot. Nothing extra for you to source.
Or we work with your engineer
Got a festival or a venue with its own house engineer and rig? Perfect. We're just as happy to work alongside them — consulting on the mix and our inputs so the band sounds its best on your system.
◆ Either way, the band shows up sounding great. Just tell us what the room needs.
The great-tailed grackle is the unofficial bird of Austin — loud, social, impossible to ignore, and everywhere you look. Dress one up for Oktoberfest and you've got us in a nutshell. It's on every flyer, every stage, and the front of this very band.
Celebrations, reunions, weddings, and every day in between. No polka experience required.
